If you’re considering taking on a new security service provider or hiring security guards, you probably have a few questions. That’s completely understandable, and we’d love to talk with you and ensure you get the answers you need. The list below are some of the most typical questions we receive, click on the question to reveal our answer.

How do you price your services?

What type of background check is performed on your security guards?
We conduct an extensive internal investigation including prior employment and personal references. We perform a nationwide database search for each applicant’s criminal background. All our security personnel must undergo criminal history fingerprint checks conducted by the Security Programs Division Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.

Are your security professionals in uniform?
Yes, our guards are uniformed guards, which are visible easily. Our corporate general orders require that our personnel keep their uniforms pressed and clean at all times. Their shoes are polished; military-style and men are well shaved with neat haircuts. Our female officers are held to the same standard. All our undercover loss prevention services are provided by plain-clothes professionals. In addition, we can offer a softer concierge-style uniform consisting of a blazer and tie. We pride ourselves on the appearance of our personnel, as they are representing our agency in your facilities.

What type of training do your security guards receive?
All our security professionals have to undergo a mandatory 40 hours in length Basic Security Training by Justice Institute of British Columbia. Our in-house company-training program consists of classroom training that covers provincial, federal laws and general security procedures. We also provide Advanced Security training for some of our security professionals depending on each site requirements. In addition, all security personnel receive specific on-site training for each individual client. All security professionals are properly trained before starting their assignment.

Are your security personnel supervised?
Our supervisors are charged with scheduling, assigning security posts, and acting as a liaison between the Board of Directors and our clients. Supervisory personnel are available to you 24 hours every day in order to maintain quality assurance and customer service on behalf of SSR Security.
The security personnel checks in and off duty using an automated software system that verifies the security personals location and keeps a record of when the security personnel are on duty. SSR Security has supervisors out in the field that routinely monitor the performance of all team members. Through their supervision, training and inspection our clients are assured of high-quality service.

Do the security personnel keep daily reports?
Depending on management needs, daily security reports can be provided for each shift. Incident reports will be provided if some sort of security violation occurs. This would consist of any criminal activity, any property loss or damage, any injuries occurring on the assigned property. Electronic reporting can be provided to our clients.
